Marialejandra Alvarado joined Fisher Island Day School in 2020.  Her mission is to encourage learners to think critically, communicate effectively, and act compassionately, while inspiring them to be inquisitive, socially and environmentally responsible, and passionate about learning.  She is committed to meeting the diverse learning needs of her students by implementing differentiated-instruction strategies. 

Mariale has worked in early childhood and elementary education for over 8 years.  She has experience and training in curriculum design, teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL), utilizing technology as a teaching tool, and working with special-needs students.

Mariale is originally from Venezuela, where she developed a passion for teaching and learning.  In her free time, Mariale enjoys traveling and learning new languages and experiencing different cultures. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and French and can also communicate in Italian, German, and Arabic.

Mariale holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education from the Central University of Venezuela, an International Teaching Certificate from the Teaching Training Center in Florida, and a Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française (DALF) from the French Ministry of Education.
