Effective parenting series not to be missed......
The new effective parenting series,which was started by the Parent Association in partnership with Olga Bloch, licensed marriage and family therapist, was a great success.
Olga Bloch is a dynamic speaker and educator who has led workshops and seminars for over 10 years. She uses stories, exercises and humor to help people improve the relationships in their lives. She has been a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Florida since 2000 and has been in private practice ever since. The main focus of her therapeutic approach is to empower the client to gain responsibility for his/her life in order to increase effectiveness and self esteem. She has twice been awarded a certificate of appreciation from the mayor of Miami Beach in recognition for outstanding community service.
She will be continuing her effective program with the second part of the topic "Consequences that Work".
The next PTA meeting is Tuesday, November 2 beginning at 9:00 am at the Tennis Center on Fisher Island followed by Ms. Olga Bloch.

Thanksgiving Holiday
The Thanksgiving festival is the time when families come together and celebrate their unity, family bonds, and traditions. They extend their thankfulness for all of the wonderful things that they have been given.
Children have to be made aware of the sensitivities and real emotions connected to this festival, so that they can also spread the message and grow up celebrating Thanksgiving in true spirit.

The most beautiful of the two word family; “Thank you”. Thanksgiving tells the children that saying a thank you is very important and means a lot. In this way, it not only instills good faith and a sense of satisfaction in children, but also gives them a first exposure to manners and discipline. Feeling thankful for their good fortune will also make children have more faith and belief in family traditions and rituals.
Bonding
Thanksgiving is the time of the year when not just close family members, but relatives living far away come together and strengthen the bond of love. This is the perfect time for children to meet their cousins and understand how their family is structured.Therefore, thanksgiving really fills the children with a wonderful feeling of unique care and sharing.
Thanksgiving Festivity at our School:
We are going to have a theme for Thanksgiving this year in school, the theme is going to be " THANK YOU".
We are planning to have our children learn the essence of Thanksgiving by making a THANK YOU NOTE for anyone who has helped them all year through in making their year a special year.
