Third Grade Lead Teacher

 

Renee Burke joined the Fisher Island Day School community in 2018. She is a Florida native who was born and raised in the Miami-Dade community. Renee taught second grade for three years in Naples, Florida. She is extremely passionate about children and education. Plus, she is very keen on utilizing research and developing ways to fully engage students.  Renee builds strong relationships with her students and makes accommodations to their different needs and learning styles in order to provide the most individualized instruction possible. She is a very upbeat and positive person with the desire to aid her students in reaching their highest potentials.

 

Outside of school, Renee is a devoted foster parent. She also enjoys nature and being outdoors, especially on the water.  Renee loves to read and spend time with her family, as well as her dogs.

 

Renee received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and a Master’s Degree from the University of Miami.
