Mollie Small began her career in education in 2006 in Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia as both a Kindergarten and Grade 2 teacher.  In 2012, she was selected to participate in the LEAD Administrative Intern Program in Fairfax County. In this highly competitive program, she served as an assistant principal in two different elementary schools during the 2012-2013 school year.  Following that experience, she became the assistant principal at Canterbury Woods Elementary School in Annandale, Virginia.  In 2014, Mrs. Small moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, and served as the K-8 vice principal at Hoboken Charter School for two years.  She worked closely with the staff, students, and parents to support student, family, and school-wide needs.

Relocating to Florida in 2016, Mrs. Small is thrilled to continue her journey as an educator at Fisher Island Day School by serving as the Assistant Head of School.

A native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Small attended Pennsylvania State University at University Park, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kindergarten and Elementary Education.  She attained her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, with an endorsement in Administration, from George Mason University in Virginia.
