John Durango wears a multitude of hats at FIDS: Dean of Students, Active Hours director, Physical Education teacher, IT specialist, Summer Camp director, and many more.  From general fitness to specialized sports, Coach D motivates and energizes all FIDS students and increases their skill levels through group dynamics and individualized attention.  John's physical education curriculum emphasizes the importance of good health, good sportsmanship, and teamwork.  He is a pro at using games and activities that allow his students to learn important life skills.

John spends as much time with his family as possible and is passionate about being a great father, husband, son, brother, and good friend.  He still loves to play soccer and enjoys exercising in his spare time.

Prior to coming to FIDS, John was a professional soccer player in Miami, Atlanta, and New York, and the assistant athletic director and physical education teacher at The Cushman School.  John earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Florida International University, and has almost attained a Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Barry University.
